I use CD because it is cheap and common, DVD has good quality and capacity but cd still wins the race, but at the same time, I know that future belongs to DVD's

DVDs always, if I need some data less then 700 KB I put it on my USB Drive of 1 GB. CDs are starting to be outdated by the DVDs like when CDs oldated floppys. Now if you buy a new PC no one buys a floppy unit. I reader buy a USB Drive, it's cheaper and the data is safer on it. Why should you buy 2 CDs when you can buy 1 DVD at the same price? And now DVD units are geting cheaper buy the second.

You have right! Cds are outdated and dvds have a bigger storage capacity.

I def Burn more dvds than cds. Its just a better solution. You can fit way more on a dvd than a cd. Altho i still burn audio cds. :) Thats about the only use i have for cds. DVD all the way!

You would have to use a DVD burner to burn a DVD. However, if you're trying to burn an audio disk that will work in any CD player, you'll have to stick with a CD-R. CD players won't know what to do with a DVD disk.

I haven't got a DVD burner....but quite honestly I prefer to use a jump drive for storage than burn CDs. The only point to burning CDs is to make mixes to listen to in the car or something! *^_^*

I still use CD in storing data. I dont go with DVDs since it is more expensive that CDs but the only disadvantage that you will get from CDs is that is has lesser storage capacity compared to DVDs.

Why do you say that cds are cheaper than dvds? I think they are about at the same priece. The advantage is for dvds who have more copacity of storage.

Although i do have a DVD-ROM i mostly use CD's their still in business but not for long. As everything it's getting bigger and bigger by the day we will require more data storage and than DVD's will permanently take out the good, old, ancient CD.
