I've been wondering what's best way of cooking potatoes. As an interested cooker, I'm always on the search for new ways of cooking potatoes. My favorite way of doing them is either easily fry them or mash them...I still think it's very hard to beat a dish with mashed potatoe, the whitest rice ever seen and a good steak. So anyway, wish new potatoes dishes to you recommend to me? Feel free to share any new recipes or ideas.

I mix diced up raw potatoes in a bowl with oil, rosemary, thyme, salt and pepper. After that I stick them in a ceramic dish and bake them for 30min at 400 degrees. My kids don't like when they are crispy or browned so I mix them about 4 times when they are cooking. I also boil diced potatoes with a couple cloves of garlic and then mash the garlic and potatoes together. It makes for a great mashed potatoe dish with a hint of garlic.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm patates!!! now i have a few different specials... 1. baking potato wedges ala grecko. after peeling and washing and cutting into segments get some baking foil and put into an oven dish..get your cooker on 200 degrees..and let it heat up.. then get olive oil, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, crushed garlic and a bit of either curry powder, cajun mix or mixed herbs..depending on the type of potato you like..mix it all up with the potato wedges and put into oven..you may add some butter if you are not so cholesterol minded..ah and very important a cup of water..please add..this will make the potatoes very fluffy.. then keep turning so all sides get crispy.. i am not putting exact amounts as i always cook by eye.. but common sense is the word here.. thanks everyone for your valuable comments here i will definately try some of your recipes..

I take the potatoes and cup them up, put them in a pan with a little olive oil and a touch of butter. Then I use whatever seasoining that I have on hand, or whaever seasonings I feel like, but garlic is a constant! Somtimes italian seasonings. Then I bake them at 375 until they are done. We like them crispy and all the kids eat them!

Twice baked potatoes are really good. You bake a potato and when it's done cut the top off, scoop out the insides, mix with a little butter, salt, and grated cheese (I like colby) then put filling back into the potato skin and sprinkle a little cheese on top. Put back into oven and bake til cheese it melted.

I like twice baked potatoes, my husband taught me how to cook them about 6 months ago and I can't get enough of them, Here is how they are made, bake your potatoes in the oven, when there done, cut the top off and dig out the inside not messing up the outter shell, do this to each potatoe, once you have all the insides out add butter, and bacon bits, and spices to your likings, we add salt, pepper and parsley, combine those ingredients in a large bowl, then stuff your potatoes outter shell with the inside mixture then put in the oven and cook for 20 minutes. They are great!

Don't think I've ever had a potato dish I didn't like. But one way I like is roasted; cut them into pieces, brush them with a little oil and maybe some spices, and put them in the oven or under the broiler. They'll come out sort of like french fries, but not nearly as greasy and with a lot fewer calories and fat.

My favorite way to fix potatoes is to just cut them into long wedges, leaving the skin on. Then I put some oil on a cookie sheet and throw the potatoes on and toss in a little more oil. I sprinkle them with salt and rosemary and bake until golden. Yum!

Oh yes I do think that it is very hard to beat a dish of mashed potatoes but I also love my potato bake, I cut them into pieces and then put sour cream and some herbs over them and put them in layers until I have enough for my family so you can bake quite a lot or how many you think yu will need. I then place them in the over and cook them until cooked about 30-40 minutes this go lovely with any meat dish.

Well besides mashing them and frying them you could also make fris with them or even make scalloped potatoes. You do this by half frying and half boiling them. In other words in a frying pan with about an inch of water depending on how many potatoes and then add your favorite spices!

In my taste buds' opinion, there's just nothing better than mashed red skinned potatoes. You just wash them, cube them, boil them, hand mash them with real butter and fresh garlic. Add some parsley and use Ranch dressing in place of butter when you mash them with the electric beaters. Oh, my! They are delicious.

I have a potato recipe for you which I think you would enjoy.. Get some small potatos (or just cut into quarters if they're big), you can peel off the skin if you like, or just wash it. Put them in some boiling water and boil until they can be easily cut. Then drain the water, put in a dish and put about 3 tbsp butter to melt on them while still hot. Sprinkle some sweet paprika and oregano if you like and bake for about 15 minutes at normal-high temperature, or until golden. Hope you'll like it!

All I do is use good russet potatoes, scrub clean, place in a pre-heated 400 degree oven and bake for about 1 hour or until a fork can be inserted easily. Remove from oven and wrap in a dish towel for 5 to 10 minutes. Before cutting open, massage the potato to soften. Cut open and add all those good things on top.......Mitch

Potato is the universal vegetable. There are many ways you can cook potato. some of them are as follows: Potato masala: ----------- Boil some potatoes in cooker (size of almost 2 inch in diameter) for around 15 mins and then peel it out. Fry these boiled potato in ghee or oil depending upon ur tests for almost 5-6 mins. Now fry onions in a frying pan and add ginger and garlic paste, after that add sliced tomato and cook for sometime in between add salt, turmeric powder and chilli and masala powder. Now put the fried potato in the gravy that you preparae and cook it for another 10 min, Serve it hot. It tastes delicious. Potato chokha: -------------- Boil potato and then peel them out. Cut onions and tomato and a green chilli into very small pieces. smash the potato so that it will turn into an uniform mass like you do to flour in order to make chapathi. now put the finely cut pieces of tomato, onion and chilli in it and agan mix it properly. Put some oil in a frying pan ands put corriander seed and mustard in it. Now put themixture of potato, onion and tomato in that hot oil and cook for sometime. Server it hot. This is very delicious. rest of the recipe at a later time
