I absolutely agree with you. I think because of the love and loyalty that they are capable of for their owners is what makes them protective also.
I have 7 dogs on the farm with me and they all sleep in my house. I feel very protected when my husband is away.
They keep strangers away from me and my home as well as coyotes and the odd bear. I could not imagine life without my dogs

ofcourse i believe what you have said ..i do have a dog by name john and its my best friend even it loves me a lot and obeys me
