Why Girls are weak in Mathematics?????

I dont agree with this at all, several of my friends are girls who are studying for a degree in mathematics or physics (which uses maths). I'm studying a medical profession so I have to have high ig, analytical and logical skills and im not finding things at all challenging. I don't believe you can generalise like this without some statistics/research to back things up.

i got high iq,i dont say it because i am arrogant..but i was not very good in mathemarics..well,never bad,but it was just not the subject i preffer...why?because its so borring sometimes.and i makes me headache:) but i knew some some girls at my school,they were very good in mathematics!so i think its depends on a person and interests

I don't think girls are weaker in Mathematics, because Mathematics require a substantial amount of practice and girls are generally much more hardworking. So that makes up for the supposed disadvantage in analytical ability (as what most scientific journals have claimed). In fact, I do personally know of many girls who are just as good, if not better than most guys in Mathematics.

I don't know about every girl weakness but my friend "lekha" is very good in mathematic but she was also week in some chapters but overall she was perfect in maths.

I dont think that generalization is necessarily true anymore. In the past I think that females were given less opportunity to be exposed to higher mathematics, but I think that times have changed and if a woman wants to pursue mathematics she is given the chance to do so, and can excel just as far as men, at least in this country.

ya i think its true and it is having different reason because girls are much sentimental then boys and they ever think more about thier relationship and so on..... sencond thing they are having a lot of work to do like house work , sweeping and all so they don't think much i think a lot of reasons behind this and u know if a girl not busy with those work is quite gud in maths and logical ability.

hi, i don't know why that is but i can admit that i was very weak at maths, i think i was the lowest in the class at the time when i was in school, but im not so bad at it now! :)

Girsl are weak in maths because they have been told they are. All through their school years teachers tell them when they make mistakes that oh well, you can't be expected to be good, you're only a girl. And then parents encourage it by telling agirl she has to be pretty not smart to get a husband. And then youngmen prove it by only wanting to date the pretty girls while the plain, smart girls sit at home crying because the boys they like won't even acknowledge their existance.

i realy dont think that girls are weak in Mathematics :) In my ex class 99% of the girls were with "A" in Mathematics ... And why do you think so ?!? The level of IQ is not directly connected to matematics ... analytical and logical ability too.

NO,no,no!Don't think so! Many of my female friends,also my classmates,do quite well in maths.I think maybe it's the matter of your way to learn maths.And also it doesn't have any proofs that girls have lower level of IQ and sth other.Girls shouldn't have these negative thoughts as when you think it's the case,you may lose heart and then believe in it even it's not right. So,in a word,be brave and confidence,nothing is impossible! Regards SuRviVe3
