I read it and thought it was one of the most interesting biographies I have ever read.

I haven't read his biography and don't know much about him. But during the Iraq war he represented Germany very well. Germany came across as a very ethical country, and given the mess Iraq is in, it's perhaps lucky that he was in power at the time (as I understand the CDU were in favour of the war). That is Mr Fischer's legacy - keeping Germany out of a stupid war.
