Does anyone else know that Thomas Jefferson invented the first tatoo gun?

I was really shocked to learn that he had created the very first tatoo gun I had one night to learn as much about him as I could and I had to write a 100 word essay on him and I was shocked to find that out has anyone else seen or heard about it.

I hadn't known about that either. Kind of cool though, I wonder what it looked liked and how it worked, if it was more painful then the tatooing methods of today.
