Name of book and author, why did you choose it, and would you recommend this book to someone else? I am reading Umberto Eco's latest book, They Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana-about a man who loses his memory, and can only remember everything he has read. I would highly recommend it.

I have found two books by the ellusive Luiz Pacheco ("Textos de Guerrilha" volumes 1 & 2) and I'm going to start reading them as soon as possible. They aren't the works by this author that I really wanted to track down, but for now, they will have to do. Maybe I will enjoy them as much as what I've previously read by him. I'm sure they will be inflammatory and vicious! I've mentioned this to another myLot user, it's a pity that this author isn't translated into other languages, I would give it an ammateurish shot at it myself, but he uses slang words and expressions that aren't easily translated or if they can be translated, they lose part of their meaning! Pity!

I have, unfortunately never heard of him. Perhaps that is the "ellusive" part? Inflammatory and vicious. It does sound like a good read-aside from the fact it isn't in English. Thanks.

I was thinking of reading "Foucault's Pendulum", I've read that it's a good book. Have you read this one? On wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foucault's_Pendulum_(book)

I had started to, but at the time (4-5 years ago) it was kind of confusing and deep for me. I think sometimes you need to be in the right frame of mind to read some of his works. Maybe after I am done with this one, I will try picking it up again.

Now that's a book that takes on different meanings each time you read it.

i don't know whether you will like contemporary writing in history and especially this subject which is very sensational even to pronounce...if you like the topic about Jerusalem and interested to read about it..i can suggest you a book...which is too much informative....

I definately like books that are informative, and I find that my interest in history is expanding. We seem to live in such a small world now, and everything effects everything else. I probably would be interested.

I am not currently reading anything but the last book I read was one of the Steven King novels . Not sure which one I think it was firestarter . I had seen the movie as a child and wanted to see how good the book would be . Generally I find a book is always better then the movie but in this case I have to say I liked the movie better so I guess I wouldn't recommend it .

I just love being able to find a book to read that is educational as well as enjoyable. They seem hard to come by sometimes. I will add it to my 2007 books to read. Thanks.
