Please explain how you understand this: "The kingdom of the heavens is like a man a businessman seeking good pearls; and having found one very precious pearl having gone away he has sold all things whatsoever he had and bought it" (Matthew 13:45-46).

It means that the kingdom of the heavens is very precious that we ought to sacrifice all our possessions on earth if necessary in order that we could enter into it. The businessman sold everything he had just to acquire such pearl, that's how important that pearl was which is compared with the kingdom in the heavens which shows that it is more than everything we have on earth.

The kingdom of the heavens is so important that men should do everything to enter into it. All our material belongings are nothing compared to the kingdom of the heavens. We should forget our earthly possessions and seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and everything shall be added to us.

"Sold all he had and bought it" At first glance, I thought you were wrong with your statement so I went to have a look at the bible and it is clearly written precisely as you have said. Sold all he had and bought it. Yes, as clear as it it is written. Heaven can be bought simply by giving and sharing to the poor all you have. Easier said than done. To include the ridicule of people around. God bless you.

My understanding about this verse is similar to the verse where a man is looking for one of his lamb out of 100 lambs and when he found his missing lamb he rejoices and make a party about it. I forgot where it's being told, but I do believe it's in the New Testament. This is about how precious is one soul to GOD that He is willing to sacrifice His only son just to get us back as His own.

Matthew 13 is Contains 7-8 parables depicting the present character of heaven until "the Day of the Lord" (The end of Earth). The book is directed to the people's acceptance or rejection of Jesus. The term."is like a businessman seeking pearls.." Translation: Business man}One of decision making/wise. "seeking Good Pearls"} a Proverb of great value. "the remainder} he gave up his/her evil ways and lived in Christ. "ONE VERY PRECIOUS PEARL"...THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. Hope it helps... We are like the businessman and the kingdom of the heavens is like the pearl. If we want to go to heaven, we should not consider our earthly possession and be ready to get away from them or sell them if that could give us entry to the kingdom of the heavens.

If you are a businessman and you found a good merchandise where you would gain much, you will do everything to the extent of selling away your possessions in exchange of that merchandise. The kingdom of the heavens is much more precious than anything else in the world and therefore, if we want to enter it, we should be willing to sacrifice anything and everything that we have provided that we could enter the kingdom of the heavens. Material things are nothing compared to living with God in heaven forever when the last day comes. We should strive to enter there no matter what cost us for it is the worst to suffer everlasting punishment in the lake of fire burning with sulfur.

I interpet it as finally finding the truth of God which is the precious pearl and giving up all the rest of our crazy thoughts for the truth. When you find the truth, that is the kingdom and you have reached the highest state of consciousness, the Christ Consciousnes. We're all like oysters in the sea floating around tranquility Waiting for the sand to form the treasure inside that will be born. A pearl so white so new so clean that glistens outside when it is seen And then we give it out to man to only return back to the sand. One of my poems on this subject.

Do you understand about this. I was having a hard time understanding this thing. But anyway, I will try interprete in my own way. There are actually many interpretation. Firsltly, maybe, when we actually find the kingdom of heavens, to enter it, we have to give all of our life in this world in the hands of GOd, walking in God's path. We have to give our all in the short word. I dont really know the real meaning right now. can you tell me please what you think? Keep up the posting .I really like all the topics that you made

Just imagine i am a man seeking truth or the real God who can give me peace from other religion. I find Jesus and know for real that He is the real person i am looking for and He is the truth and the person who gives me peace. So what i do is i leave out all my religious rituals and pactrices which i have been practicing all these years and accecpt Jesus as my saviour. Because i know that i have been living with fake things and now having found the real and the original thing which is rare i am willing to give up everything. As i have finally got the thing i was looking for.

To me Jesus is telling us how it should be when we find salvation - we have the best pearl and should give up everything else to obtain Heaven.

hi. what I understand about it ... the kingdom of the heavens is very precious. and a businessman is someone who knows exactly what things are really valuable and precious, which are (in this parable) "good pearls". and when he found a very precious pearl (that means he recognized how valuable it was), he had even been willing to sacrifice everything he had in order to be able to get this precious thing. and you know this is a characteristic of a good pearl. no matter how old it is, it won't be broken. no matter how dirty the surrounding or the place it has been, a good pearl never loses its beauty and its purest shine. the dirt and filth will not defile a good pearl. it stands out in the middle of all things. I think that's how the parable explain to me about the Kingdom of the heavens.
