Coz I know someone who is always imitating me. Everything I do, everything I own, for sure she'll do it or she'll have it also. Like if I throw a party, that person will throw the exact same party with the same theme/concept. And for our kids, that person will buy the exact same thing that my kid has. As in everything, down to the single thing that my baby owns. If she saw something new in my baby, for sure she'll buy the exact same thing in the following days. I know imitation is the highest form of flattert, but she really gets on my nerves already. It's like she's competing with me. How about you guys, do you have this type of person in your lives? Is it ok with you or they get on your nerves also?

luckily i don't have a copycat yet :) but if ever, i might not help but feel a little irritated with her also. however, i will try to ignore her for mostly its her problem not mine. as long as i don't envy her back. or maybe you can offer her tips on how you purchase stuffs so she can makeup her own mind and try not to imitate you :)

You're lucky you don't have this type of individuals in your life. But like what you said, it's not my problem as lon as I don't envy her back. It just irritates me sometimes because I'm not use to this type of setup. have a number of cousins my age but we don't have this kind of competition. I'm not use to this because we are not raised to be like this by our parents. ut I guess, I'm lucky because I don't have this insecurity.

there was this one weird lady who used to do that to my mum. She wanted everything my mum had including my dad!!! she even had children around the same time my mum had us and everything that my mum bought for us or for herself shed try to buy an even better version for her and her kids. when we got a dog, they bought one too. when we moved into a bigger house, they did the same. and to think she and my mum were friends at one time. needless to say they arent friends anymore. i dont know why people do this. is this some form of weird insecurity?

I have someone who has been that way with me for the past couple of years. They used to be friends with me, but I ended that about a year ago when they carried things too far and did some things that damaged the relationship very badly because of the jealousy they felt. Like you, I was not raised that way. Friendship should not be a competition about who can be better than the other one. I do not need friends who always feel the need to try to have more than I have or do more than I do.
