why does it hurt so much to find out "he" is already married?

or maybe im just upset? Browsing one of my friends' friends on her friendster's list that his status has changed from single to married, well the fact is that i wasn't romantically involved with him or something. The truth is that he doesnt even know my true feelings for him, that he is my long time crush. Would it be much easier if anyone knew that he is my crush and all of them would break to me the news that he's finally found the right one?
