That was in 1971, I was 18 years old. My sister and I were leaving Davao City and bound for Cebu City. We are to pursue our college studies there. Our parents prefer we study there rather than in Davao City. We surmised our parents believe that schools in Cebu City, Philippines are much, much advanced in technological studies compared to the homeplace. There is a school in Davao City which offered engineering courses too but they're relatively new in the field. I preferred to spend my college days in Davao City but, of course, parents decision prevailed because they are the ones spending for my schooling.

I was ten years old when my parents took my brother and me out west to Alberta and British Columbia. We were supposed to take the train through the mountains but there was a VIA Rail strike at the time so we rented a car, but initially we flew out there from Toronto, and of course flew back again. We also took a little prop plane from British Columbia to Vancouver Island.
I don't remember much of this trip but I have pictures to remind me.
