The Sun:
It is the most important member of our solar system. It is about 150 million km away from the earth. It is a mass of very hot gases. The rays of the sun travel at a rate of 300,000 kn per second and take 8 minutes to reach our earth.
The sun is the most important source of energy to our earth. It gives us heat and light.
The Planets:
The planets are heavenly bodies which revolve around the sun.
They have no light and heat of their own but they get these from the sun .They move in specific paths around the sun. These paths are called orbits. So far we have been able to identify nine planets in our solar system. They are Mercury,Venus,Earth,Mars,Jupiter,Saturn,Uranus,Neptune and Pluto.

I didn't care for this topic when it was posted by another member last week.

Thank you for the review, I have forgotten so much since I have not studied it for a long time.
