Is it true that people who look better have an advantage over those who do not? whether it comes to career opportunities or interpersonal relationships, does one's appearance really make a significant difference? why or why not? any personal experiences to share?

In reality, i think those people who are beautiful or look better has more advantage than those who dont. Specially nowadays, more work are based on relating with people. People like to look at other people who are beautiful. ITs actually society that dictates that we need to be beautiful to be successful in our career. i guess its kinda a discrimination for others. I do observed when company post qualifications for hiring something for a specific work includes pleasing personality. Why cant they be frank about it, they can actually write what they really need than just putting pleasing personality. Thats is why cosmetic surgery is really famous nowadays because more and more people wanted to be beautiful even costing them a lot of money.

Looking good is important in every aspect in your life. Everyone will look at you first before they even get to know you right. Despite the fact that looks are just skin deep and that what is inside that counts, still let us not forget that first impression does matter. And most of the time, it also show what kind of person we are inside if viewed from the outside. If you're all disheveled and worst looking stressed out what would people think of you? If ur applying for a job, looking good and smart is one of the criteria for employers because they would like to trust the job to someone who looks capable and responsible, right? So inside counts more, but the outside appearance is important as well.

Looking good is important, but not the most important thing. Looks are only your cover page, it's what's inside of you that matters the most. You can never read a book by it's cover.

I don't think it hurts but ultimately what matters most is your general knowledge of the position at hand. Looks might give you an upper hand when it comes to certain aspects though.
