Is theer any chance of cricket entering olympics as we all know that cricket playing nations have increased and even countries like USA, CANADA,IRELAND are all playing cricket now and popularity is also increasing.USA is also conducting a cricket series very shortly in a newly built cricket stadium of their own? so, what do you think of this? will cricket be able to make it to olympics shortly?

The new version of cricket twenty-20 can impress the Olympic organisers, since it is the shortest version of cricket. Acc. 2 me, cricket isn't famous like football or tennis because it is time consuming. A test match yields the result after 5 days whereas ODI takes from dawn to dusk....n this is the reason y it is not there in Olympuics yet. If u c, every event in olympics is not large time consuming, But still I hope 20-20 will make it thru bcoz it is just a 3 hrs game....

Yes, you have really made a valid point here and 20-20 might attract many countries and as it spreads world wide, then cricket is bound to be included in olympics isn't it? cricket is anice interesting game to be played and watched and we can only hope it gets included in olympics..isn't it? Anyway's, thanks for responding

I dont think cricket belongs in the olympics. We should stick to tradition. Cricket should be left the way it is. If you make cricket too accessible.., you may bring in the money but you lose the fanbase..

Yes, all cricket playing nations will enjoy it for sure and 20-20 format is the perfect one to make a start in olympics but not 50-50 format for sure.As of now, many countries have started playing cricket and will definitely spread among many more countries in near future for sure...... Anyway's, thanks for responding

I think there is no chance for it.For this we have to increase the popularity of the game. Now only few countries are playing this game.

When the game of cricket becomes famous among many countries , it gets automaticaly entered into olympics and now 20-20 format is increasing its popularity and many countries are playing this now.So, in the near future 20-20 format of cricket will definitely make an entry into the olympics for sure Anyway's, thanks for responding

I think 20-20 might make it to the Olympics since it allows 3-4 to be complete per day like soccer or hockey etc.

Yes, cricket is being played in most countries these day's and it is infact spreading aallover and shorted verison of crocket liek 20-20 format might definitely attract olympics and might become a good ews for india as it can aim for amedal or two in olympics isn't it? as the hopes we al had kept in indian hockey team seems to be fading away sday by day... This is true that cricket is gaining popularity in other countries. But still it has not reach to the point of popularity when we can expect it to enter in to olympic. Way to go.

Cricket is spreading to more countries now at a very fast pace and soon it is bound to enter olympics and according to me it might take another 4 years or so to enter olympics as it has not still gained enough popularity as you told and i also agree to that. But, in near term it will get into olympics for sure and maybe 20-20 format will make an entry here... well i think introducing 50 over cricket to olympics is not possible. it is because of its time consuming.but i think as cricket is becoming more popular the 20-20 cricket will be introduced surely in 2012 or 2016 olympics

Yes, introducing 50 overs in olympics maynot be possible as it is more time consuming and these day's 20-20 format is gaining popularity everywhere and looks an attractive entry to olympics isn't it? more and more countries are now playing cricket these day's and so, possibilty of cricket making anentry into olympics is more now.... Anyway's, thanks for responding

If Indians could extend the popularity of cricket to other countries, at least Asian countries, say,China, cricket will stand a chance of entering the olympics. but for now, the chance is fat.

I dont think cricket will be a part of the olympics. I am a big fan of cricket and hope to see it a part of olympics. But you know the nature and time of the game. This factor will surely effect the game compare to other games included in olympics. If it could be 20-20 game them. there may be chances that we could see cricket a part of olympics soon.

Yes, if India can get to compete in cricket in the olympics, we also might hope for some medal atleast as india has a very good cricket team than any onlympic sorting team events as indian hockey team which had full promises till now is in the downtrend now and cricket might just give new life to plympic medal prospects..isn't it? Anyway's, thanks for responding
