my suggestion would be for desktop computer ,if your brother is below 20 .people who are on roaming like going place to place for their business purpose will find a laptop neccessary and comfortable..A desktop computer with a lastest configuration will do for him if he is a student.. For the price of an average laptop, you could purchase a much more powerful desktop.:)laptops can be easily damaged while handling it,only laptops can be fixed by its company who made it,this is not the case for desktop..laptops can be easily stolen when it is taken around ..its not it u using ur laptop ,matter of it u endup losing ur valuable datas..so i prefer going for an desktop is cheap and valuable:)

A laptop is portable. It's especially good for people who travel a lot. It's a plus if it is wifi compatible.=) For the desktop computer, it's more stable and some have greater memory and capacity.

it depends on how old he is. if he is old enough to take care of a lap top i would go for that one. but if he is younger where he may drop it or not take care of it i would get him the desk top that way it is being in the house at all times and someone can monitor it.

sorry i dont know what ur brother is doing..if he is studying or working in a software company it would be better for him to buy a pc rather than a laptop..but if at all he is a business man then he can prefer pc to a laptop..and one more thing if he is interested in games then it is good to buy a pc with inbuilt graphics card..and if u are gonna buy this month, just wait for a month microsoft vista will be released officially..u can buy a pc or laptop with vista operating system..

i would most definitely suggest a laptop..and a lenovo..or a hp(one of it's latest models) or even a wio..i can guarantee that your brother is going to love it..well..incase he's an apple co. fan..you could get him the inotebook which could be his dream!!all of these are worth their money and hi-end products with great performance levels.

go for a Desktop rather than a loptop,,,,many accessories can be connected to a pc and he can practice many other things also which he cant on a laptop...last but not the least atleast in this way he will be hooked to his pc in home only and not go out.

That depends whether your brother is still studying or whether he is employed which involves a great deal of office work and travelling included. Because for office work, a laptop is highly suited as it offers the facility of doing work on the go. Whereas you can opt for a desktop, if he is studying and not employed, only in the case that he doesn't require to carry laptops to his school/college.

its depend on your work. if you are traveling lots and you have lots of work with traveling than buy laptop. but there is one prob. in laptop. in future if there is any prob. in hardware than repair cost is higher than desktop pc. so if you want to work from one place than buy a desktop pc.
