This discussion is about attitude .. how to get a positive attitude and keep it. 1. Positive thinking is a choice .. it is no one else's responsibility .. my attitude is the result of my choice. 2. Circumstances may not change, but I can change my attitude. 3. Positive people see opportunities in every problem. Negative people see problems in every opportunity. 4. Luck is the result of preparation plus perspiration (work) meeting opportunity. Most people who think in terms of "luck" refuse to prepare themselves for success. They won't study. More importantly, they won't study examples of success and the methods that lead to success. So, because of their own laziness, they think those who have reached the success they envy are just "lucky" people .. good grief .. I've been working at my "luck" for at least 35 years! 5. Know your limitations and maximize your abilities. 6. Whether you think you can, or can't .. you are right! As a man STINKETH in his heart, so is he. Or, as a man THINKETH in his heart, so is he. 7. If you are walking through hell, keep walking! What positive mental attitude principles do you use to keep yourself positive?

It's amazing how our attitude affects our life in a great degree. He who thinks he is a born loser ends up a loser and he who thinks he was born to win ends up successful in life. No obstacles can ever stop him because he believes he was born to win. Isn't this wonderful. Unfortunately, most people are taking this for granted.

Exactly! Whether we think we can, or we think we cannot, we are right! As a man thinks in his heart, that is what he is. One who thinks blessings upon others is blessed. One who thinks curses upon others is cursed.

These are very usefull thoughts. Thank you. I think I take my life basicly positivly. So I can be happy for very little things. It means that I see the glass half full every day. But when I want something, or I plan something I see the glass half empty. I am affraid of disappointments, that's why I like to count everything in advance. I want to be sure that I can avoid or solve all the stumpers, before I decide to do that.

Thank-you for your thoughts. Keeping a positive attitude in everything we do is so important. It is much more productive to expect the best while being reasonably prepared for the worst.

Just with all the things that call for my attention, it sure takes alot less energy to be happy than being down all the time. I do have my down times however they don't last. Best things happen when you are moving and my working these last few years has bouyed me through our dark times. Because I am a positive energy good people are pulled toward me and become assets in my life. Just so much easier to live with positivity!!

Excellent! Our reality is not defined by one moment, but rather by the journey. In the ocean of life, we do have a "life preserver" to pull us back on top... our attitude and faith.

What great comments! It is sometimes so difficult to get our minds off of our own thoughts that keep us trapped where we are! Stuff like, "man, I hate this job!" instead of "thank you Lord for my job! I'm lucky to have it!" or saying "I wish I could do that" (whatever it is) when we don't want to have to take that first step to change or to grow! Thinking positive is very important! And it is one that I fight to do every day! When I get too negative in my thoughts, I sometimes tell myself to shut up and change my thinking. I also say thank you prayers for what I have in my life.

Sometimes it takes circumstances or maturity to convince us that we have to stop focusing upon the negative. But, negative thinking is a choice. However, once it becomes a habit, it has to be intentionally replaced with a new habit .. thinking on the blessings instead of the blastings.

I have never understood this analogy of the half full or empty glass they both have the same amount in them ,its how you plan on using the water in the glass...

Those who see the glass as "half empty" are focusing upon what isn't there .. those who see the glass as "half full" are focusing upon what IS there.

Thank-you for sharing those helpful principles. Values are everything. Some people think: Do unto others before they do unto you. Driven by greed and self-centeredness .. no respect. Others think: Do unto others as they do unto you. Driven by victim mentality, self-centered, revenge, or have a merit mentality .. I'll only be good to you if you merit it. The success mentality says: Do unto others AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU!

Those are really something and I like them. I try to tell myself that I can do it and believe that I can. And that never fails me at all.
