yes, my children didn't even remember. not that i expected a party, but maybe a family dinner! My oldest son was engaged at the time, and he and his fiance stopped over for a little bit the week after-so i mentioned we were married 25 years, and it would've been nice to hear you say happy anniversary-well his fiance stated this "I think anniversaries should just be celebrated between the husband and wife". ok, so now that they are married, i think that I should not even acknowledge thier anniversary. what do you think?

I lived out of state when my parents 25th came up, but my sister, brother and I planned for me to fly up and then meet at a restaurant with our parents. My brother made the reservations and drove them there and my sister (claiming she was working a little late) picked me up from the airport. Earlier that day I sent them an anniversary bouquet with a note saying how sorry I was not to be there. My brother said even dad had a few sniffles over the note. When we arrived at the restaurant, my sister went in first and then I snuck around from the behind our willing waitress and asked if they were ready to order. My mother almost knocked me over!
As for your daughter-in-law and son's 1st anniversary, send them a nice card with a gift certificate. See what happens then.

That will be in 5 years. Hopefully me & my 3 other siblings can come up with something to do for them. A family dinner sounds great & we could even use my house for it. My parents are always very low-key on their anniversary. I think if they only want to celebrate it with the 2 of them then I would not do more than wish them a happy anniversary when the time comes.
