What is ghost hunting?

My daughter has a new acquaintance that told my daughter that her hobby was ghost hunting. What is this? How is it done? I really sounds unusual and intriging. Should this new acquaintance ask my daughter to participate, would it be safe? Thanks for your help.

My son went through this when he was young. They actually have a name for this and even a school to learn how to do it. The name is paranormal investigator I think, there is also a ghost hunters society. He was thinking about going to the school and getting his license and it still intrigues him today. I just let kids talk until it becomes something of concern. I would do research just so you would know if it is safe for your child. I don't think kids can do this authentically though.

I guess I should have added that my daughter is 17 yrs old! Thanks for the information. I will certainly do some reading on the topic.

Well citra, I don't really know. My daughter's new acquanintance just mentioned to my daughter that it was one her hobbies. That is why I was asking about it, I had not heard of it and didn't know what they do! It honestly doesn't sound like something that I would want my daughter doing.

A friend of mine is in the local ghost hunters club. They go to houses that are supposed to have a "history" and use these gadgets to study the temperature changes and other stuff. It is really interesting to hear him talk about it. I don;t think it would be a problem if it is something you 17 year old daughter is interested in. It can get a little scary sometimes.
