Do you ever enjoy "breakfast" foods for dinner?

Pancakes and Eggs - not just for breakfast

We're not huge fans of breakfast at my house so we will often eat a "breakfast" for dinner. This evenings dinner will be pancakes and eggs. Do you ever do this or do you keep your breakfast foods strictly for breakfast?

Yes, I actually prefer to have "breakfast" foods for dinner and usually just have fruit or cereal for breakfast. About a week ago I made a big tray of pancakes that I baked in the oven for dinner. I found the recipe online and it was nice to just have one big pancake that I cut into squares instead of standing at the stove making 1 or 2 at a time. I then made fruit sauce for some and a vegan sausage gravy also. Sometimes I'll have a bowl of cereal or oatmeal at night for a healthy snack.

Oh we definitely do this! I have one kid who can't eat eggs (by themselves... ok in baked or cooked items) so it generally means making a few different items but we'll have pancakes (of different flavors... our current fave is blueberry since we have plenty of frozen berries on hand from last summer), waffles, sausage (with or without an egg) on english muffins .... Occasionally, I cook biscuits and gravy too because my hubby's a Kentucky boy and Canada just doesn't "do" biscuits and gravy LOL He was devastated when he moved up here -- "whaddya mean you don't eat biscuits and gravy???? EVERYONE eats biscuits and gravy!!" Uh no. lol I learned how to make it from his mom and his aunt, so we're good on that front now.

I hardly ever eat breakfast in the morning either. One of my favorite suppers is a Jimmy Dean Skillet. It has green and red peppers, onions, potatoes and ham or sausage (there may even be bacon ones). Then I scramble up some eggs and serve toast with it! I love it!!! Thinking about it now, I could probably make this without Jimmy's help, but it's a lot easier when it all comes in a bag! Oh and my husband has started making some wonderful raspberry pancakes! Since they're not in season we just buy the frozen ones and it's still wonderful!

My family is like yours. We do not have the time to eat big breakfasts except for on sundays. We usually do a brunch on Sunday. So every once in a while my daughter will ask for breakfast for dinner. Both her and my sig. other like to eat pancakes, french toast, eggs, homefries, etc. for dinner. I don't like to.. I'm not a huge fan of breakfast food. But on these days my sig. other cooks! So I say oh yeah that sounds great!

Which is probably a smarter way to eat! You can use up all that food throughout the day and dwindle down to enough to keep you the night.

Yes, we love to have breakfast foods for dinner. We aren't big into breakfast in the mornings either. Our favorite is waffles and eggs. Another one that I love is biscuits and gravy with eggs and potatoes for dinner. Yummy. I just got hungry.

yes i have made breakfast foods for dinner. I find it seems to taste better and it definitely gets on the table faster than dinner food would have a quick whipping up some eggs and maybe has browns and turkey bacon in the microwave and umm dinner/breakfast is served.

Sometimes it's great to have breakfast for dinner. The kids love it when I make pancakes and sausage for dinner, and I enjoy having a huge feast on western sandwiches which I used to eat strictly for breakfast.

I really do not like eating in the mornings either! But a good egg and cheese omelet with some Black Mans Ketchup (that would be Hot Sauce) at night is off the chains!

LMAO... "Black Mans Ketchup".... ya know... I've had friends from the south tell me "pass me the ketchup" and I've handed them, well.. ketchup. They laugh and say... no.. the good stuff and grab the hot sauce! You are the only person I've heard refer to it as "ketchup" in any form... even if you DO think only the black man thinks it's ketchup! lol Must be a southern thing?

No I don't eat "breakfast" foods for dinner. Heck, I hardly eat breakfast for breakfast. Not a huge fan of the breakfast foods. Every once in awhile I like potatos with cheese and bacon or what have you. But most of the time, I'd rather skip to lunch.

LOL... I understand not eating breakfast for sure. But I love them for dinner. I guess it's more of a "morning" eater that I don't like to be.

I want something when I want it, regardless of the time of day. I don't believe in "breakfast" foods. I think food is food and should be eaten any time it is desired. This morning I had a ham sandwich at The Second Cup for breakfast! ;-)

My friend I have not become so selective to put breakfast only for morning. I put the eating things in eating category. I just eat it when I get hungry. That's all I know.

Good idea! Why put them in their own category? If you like it, eat it!
