Who's the true symbol of Chelsea: Lampard or Terry?

So, let's take a poll on this one. Both players have been formed in Chelsea and are considered as being totally indispensable for the team. I believe they both feel Chelsea like no other player who plays for the team. So which one do you think it's the one who is the main symbol of Chelsea? I prefer Lampard as a player, because of his charachteristics but I'll have to go with Terry on this one, he has better leading skills and has been in Chelsea for all of his career. I'll keep on updating the poll as answers come in. Frank Lampard: 0 John Terry: 1

I believed that it would be Frank Lampard who will be the most important to the team. If you see that Chelsea has so many defenders, I believed that Terry is not so important in this case. However, if we see the real and actual result, it did make a difference without Terry as Chelsea has a problem in every game they have without this terry. But, I believe that it should not be a problem for them really without terry. Lampard is more important as he can score goals, good defence, as well as good attacking skills. He is also capable for leading the team like chelsea. He is from a no one in West Ham and becoming a someone here in Chelsea which is full of great players. He worked hard and harder. Not too arogant and emotion is controled accordingly. So, I see that he should be chelsea's best player.

You have some good points in there as well, even though I don't believe the position on the field should be so irrelevant when it comes to being a symbol in a club. Just look at the example of Beckenbauer...anyway, update then: Frank Lampard: 4 John Terry: 9

Without mincing words,it is lampard. His image and achievements has grown in leaps and bounds over the time in chelsea. He has scored breathtaking goals that has claimed victories for chelsea over the ime and he has shown resilience in the midfield and attack,in fact,he is the cat pyjamas of the team.

I love Chelsea! I love Lampard! But I presuppose: John Terry is the symbol of Chelsea, when John Terry will finish his career the symbol will be Frank Lampard.

Ok first things first... im an Arsenal supporter. Just thought i'd put that out there :) Im going to have to go for Terry as well. For the very same reasons you have stated in your discussion. He carries the team very well and i think has earned this through his entire career with Chelsea. He's a top sportsman... GO GUNNERS!!! :P

They are both really good. Have both done a lot 4 the club. They are the 2 common fixtures in the team despite so many team changes over the years. But if i had 2 pick 1 player it wud be terry. He's a talisman in d team. In his absence the team really suffers and gud results are really hard 2 cm by. So i go wit terry al the way!
