I love to read about the old west, cowboys, Indians, pioneers, etc. A couple of my favorite authors are Penelope Williamson, and James Alexander Thom. Anyone else like to read this type of book? What are some that you've enjoyed?

One of my favorite time periods to read about is the old west. I also write historical romance and that is one of the eras I love to write about. As for some great authors, Linda Lael Miller has some excellent selections. Another great book is "Comstock Lode", by Louis L'Amour. I also loved "Brides of the West", by Lori Copeland. Happy reading.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll be sure to check those out! Have you had any of your writings published yet? Best wishes on that! I just remembered a couple more that I thought were really good. One is, The Red Heart, I believe it is writen by James Alexander Thom and the second, is Shiloh Autumn - I can't remember the author of that one right off - if I think of it I'll be sure to post it. Happy Reading!

No, I am not published in the "novel" world yet. Hopefully I will sell my first this year. That is my goal. I have two completed so far. Thanks for the good wishes. I appreciate it. I will check those out, and yes, please post if you remember the author's name. The name "Shiloh" sounds familiar to me.

When you do publish let me know! My mother has my copy of Shiloh Autumn, I'll try to remember to ask her the name of the author next time we talk, which is usually at least once a day!
