Two lancards on one computer

How can we connect two pcs with each other by using two lan cards.

that is possible but you need a different kind of network cable for that. which looks exactly the same as usual network cable but has little difference in the way the wires are connected.

and what about the setting i have to do in both of the computers.

It's pretty simple actually. You'll need some network cables (UTP Cables) with RJ45s on either end sutup as cross-over cables. Plug each end to each PC's LAN card. If you are using WinXP, the system will cnfigure itself. =)
