On one of my recent discussions about how to quit smoking, someone replied that they had a sibling who had died from COPD. I was wandering what this was and what the symptoms of it was. If anyone knows please reply.

COPD is chronic obstuctive pulmanary disease it can be brought on by a multiple of things like bronchitis emphyzema and many other things it often goes undetected up till recently they are starting to pay more attention as it has struck so many either that or they grouped things together to shorten the list of things to look for I am not sure but I have it and it is not fun at all in my opion.

I have it to and I am only 38, i wasent too worried about it untill I woke up in the middle of the night having my first real breathing attack, made every other struggle to breath seem easy, I have had 2 more since and see my doctor for more treatment options on saturday. right now I have an inhailer that i use twice a day, and one for emergency use.
yahoo health and web md have excellent info about it and symptoms to look for.
