Cooking pork

Is it ok to cook pork rare? I've heard that whatever used to get people sick is no longer a threat in pork. Is that true?

I think the best way is to cook it properly. If you like boil it first and cook it afterwards. The blood of the pork and the fat that has makes it enemy for our health (example: cholesterol)
