Catch and release

Fishing - Catch and release

I'm not big on hunting, although I know some people do it for the food. But I have to admit that it's kind of disturbing to me when people do it because they love the thrill of killing something. But my question is about fishing. It actually bothers me that fishermen catch fish just to release them. I understand why they do it, but if they're not going to eat the fish, why don't they just leave them alone? The only reason for doing it is for sport, and although it doesn't kill the fish, I'm sure they don't like it very much. I guess I just can't imagine wanting to do something for fun that makes any living creature (even a fish) suffer. OK, now that I've offended all the hunters/fishermen out there...

lol...I just started a discussion about fishing...Title: I want to go fishing!!! I never keep the fish I catch, but I never really thought about it the way you've described either. Now, maybe, I don't want to go fishing...thanks for ruining my dream...ha ha just kidding....

Oh nooo! I'm sorry! LOL! It's not something that keeps me up at night. It's just something I've wondered about. So is it just the challenge that makes it fun? Hope you can still enjoy your fishing trip. :) P.S. I've fished quite a bit, but I eat them. I'm not sure the fish would agree with my position. :)
