How do you deal with a bad ebay seller?

I ordered 16 items and all but three have arrived. When I email them I just get excuse after excuse. I have been waiting patiently and yet no results. Do you leave negative feed back, because chances are even if you payed instantly they havent left you any feedback. They wait to see what yours is and then match it. This should not be allowed. Ebay should make them leave feedback automatically when they are receiving payment.

You should be able to report them to Ebay as they could remove this person from their site as well as legal action could be taken against this person for not delivering the goods that you ordered. You can also try contacting the Better Business Bureau if you do not get any results from Ebay or the person selling the items to you. This is why I avoid Ebay because you never know whether the person selling the items is being truthful or not.

This is one reason out of many why I won't buy online. I have 3 rings coming from bidz.com which Ive been waiting for for 6 weeks now. I hate waiting. I hope all works out for you.

File a NOT RECEIVED claim with eBay it is on your My eBay page or do a search on eBay, they will in turn send the seller an alert to get the package out ... another option, if you paid with Paypal you can get your funds back if they do not send your item ... just a thought

'Ebay should make them leave feedback automatically when they are receiving payments'. I disagree. As an e-bay seller, I used to always do this. Then someone left me a negative stating that the item was smaller than expected and shipping was too high. Because I'd already left feedback, I had no recourse. It made me look bad when I had listed the dimensions of the item and gave a choice of 2 shipping methods of which she chose the higher priority shipping. So her critisim was totally invalid.

Log on to ebay and go to my ebay section you should see listings there of items buying and items selling .. Go to buying items find the ones you bought and follow across this row there is area for feed back. also My Ebay Account: has feedback section there as well. If you paided for items with PayPal they also have a resoulations section and for those not receive they will run a check and help you get your money back for items nnot received. Good Luck...

If you paid by credit card just cancel the payments for the items you didn't receive. ALWAYS leave feedback so that other users don't get caught in the same problem. Most dealers are reputable and do the right thing, but every now and then you get the odd mongrel that doesn't come through. I always read what other buyers have to say before I buy anything. If there's enough bad input Ebay takes them off the site. Sometimes they're just late anyway. I bought something recently that took nearly a month to get here and that was from Sydney to Queensland!

Here what I have done, If I get nowhere after a week i start a paypal complaint, this way I can kinda get the money back, once I get the money back (that usually takes a week) I do a response to ebay to let them know, give the details that paypal sided with me ect. then depending I will do a neg feedback, but in thimes I done this, they seller was kicked off ebay, so they could not retailate

I agree with you. They should have to leave feedback as soon as they recieve payment, they should not be allowed to wait and see what you leave for them. When you pay fast and then they ship slow or not at all, if you leave bad feedback then they give it back to you even though you did good on your end of the deal. Its wrong! I have had many dealings where I wanted to leave bad feedback but didnt because I didnt want them to give it back to me even though I paid with paypal as soon as I won. On things like that I just dont leave feedback because I want my feedback to stay at 100% positive. I have worked hard for that, and it makes me made that one person can take that away just for revenge because they didnt hold through with their end of the deal. I guess you just have to decide if you are willing to risk them doing it back to you.

Hi, can I suggest you visit the eBay community discussion boards, the Q & A section, you will see dozens of *feedback* threads there, they will be able to advise you. As a seller and a buyer on eBay myself I follow the eBay rules. As a buyer, the buyer leaves feedback first to indicate to the seller that they are happy with their item. The seller then leaves feedback to acknowlege the end of the transaction. As a seller I wait until my buyer has let me know they are happy with their item, then I leave feedback to acknowldge the end of the transaction. Check with the eBay Q & A board hun

I had an experience when i didnt recieve my items and after waiting 3 weeks and no response from the seller i emailed paypal and went through a dispute to get my money back. they granted my money back to me in 10 days. then a couple weeks later the seller went through ebay to say the items were never paid for even though pal pal knew i paid for the items. He just didnt want bad feedback left for him, but i left him bad feedback, he left me nothing

You can open a ticket with them and they contact the person selling you the item through paypal also, if that is who you used. They contact them about a dispute resolution, but I would also leave negative feedback if they did not ship in the aloted time. If they want the negative feedback removed they need to ask you to recant it, which you can and both parties have to accept that then your "points" for them cancel out.

I think the problem here is how to deal with the seller giving you a negative rating as well.

Well, if they keep procrastinating and you know there's no way you're getting your money or your items, then you should leave a negative rating. Even if the seller returns you the favour, I'm sure buyers can see for themselves who is in the wrong.

I usually will go and check out a seller before I bid on things check his percentage out and if it is below 95% I will check out his/her feed back that they recieved from other buyers. I would contact this person again and ask when and set up a time and if you still do not receive your things I would be contacting ebay and letting them know I think that paypal should have it set up where it would tell the seller that payment was received and when the person gets their items they inform paypal who releases the payment so in your situation paypal wouldn't pay till you received your whole shipment. I wish they did this it would save a lot of hassle and also alot of pain in the rear. And sellers would either have to fullfill the sale or not get their money. I think that paypal will reimburse you for the items you did not receive.

You should report the matter to ebay. That's the best thing you can do.

You should contact Ebay to appraise them of the situation, if they are aware of it then they can approach the vendor regarding the bad reputation that Ebay are in danger of acquiring. If you paid by Paypal then you should also be able to get your money back for anything that has not been delivered.

I had the same thing happen to me. Forget trying to contact them, because they are liers. Liers will tell lies even when the truth would do, so give up with that. Just do the complaint thing to ebay...that should make them get their finger out. It worked for me. Good luck getting your stuff!

There is a definite reason for that event. YOu gotta contact your seller regarding that matter. Have your transactions settled down first. And if by no means the seller failed to do his responsibility, then, he is qualified to be rewarded a bad feedback (inspite of all that you have complied and paid everything for it). Yes, he really deserves it.
