Our City is Famous for Nanaimo Bars. Have you tried making them and what recipe did you use, did they turn out?

I have never made Nanaimo Bars but I am an expert at eating them!!The best ones I ever had were handmade by the mother of a friend of mine who made everything from scratch. I sure could go for some right now......
