I enjoy singing a variety of songs at various karaoke shows. I sing both male and female songs, both rock and country. What do the rest of you enjoy singing?

I sing all sorts of songs, both male and female songs. To me, the most difficult songs I ever sing are Mariah's songs! I tried singing We Belong Together but I got out of breath even from the beginning and the last part, I had to surrender. I also enjoy singing all the 80s or 90s songs because most are quite easy to sing!

I know what you mean about Mariah's songs. I have a hard time with some of them too. Thanks for your reply

I don't really sing on Karaoke unless I've had a few alcholic drinks (dutch courage) but when I do I alway sing "These boots are made for walking" by Nancy Sinatra. I love to sing that on karaoke I really get carried away. LOL.

There are a lot of people that won't sing until they have those first few drinks. I used to be that way at first, but it doesn't bother me anymore. That's a great song to sing. I always have a good time with that one and the audience loves it.

When I was younger and could sing higher, I liked songs from The Lion King and Mulan. I could also sing some Pocahontas stuff. And non-Disney songs like Somewhere Out There was another favorite. Now I like Shania Twain songs.

I've never sang Somewhere Out There, but I really like the song. I do sing some of the Shania Twain songs. I get a lot of requests for If you're not in it for love.

I like to try different songs as much as i can but my favorites are probably Me & Bobby McGee by Janis Joplin, River Deep Mountain High & Proud Mary(Tina Turner's version), I Want You to Want Me by Cheap Trick and my absolute favorite is getting fairly inebriated and belting out Piece of My Heart by Janis Joplin (Or Big Brother and the Holding Company which was the band she was in when she sang it.)

I know what you mean. I love to do a variety of different songs too. These are some really good choices. The only one of them I haven't tried is River Deep Mountain High, although a friend of mine does a great job of it. I do the CCR version of Proud Mary though, rather than Tina Turner version version.

I like your taste in music. It sounds very similar to mine. In fact, there isn't one on your list that I don't like. I had not heard of SingSnap before, but according to their website, "they are apparently in private beta testing phase which means that you have to get an invitation to be able to use the service." I added my name to their waiting list so hopefully they will send me an invitation so I can look around. I recently signed up for an account with SingShot, although I have not recorded anything yet. I'm still trying to get the microphone settings where I'm happy with the sound. I don't know, I guess maybe I'm too much of a perfectionist.

I like to sing Faith Hill songs. My husband and I put karaoke on professionally. Our business is called "Rock with Rhonda's Karaoke". We love to watch other sing. It is very entertaining. Most people like karaoke over a band. It doesn't matter if you are good, bad, or whatever it is so much entertaining and all the crowd/audience can partcipate. It is great.

You are right; most people do prefer the karaoke. I have several friends who run karaoke shows and I help when needed. I am always there singing anyway, so if my friend needs a break I am always ready to fill in for a bit. I only run the show myself occasionally, but I enjoy being there whether as the guest or the host.

I love singing Karaoke. But I am a bit shy about it. We once used a site called PalTalk. There you can sing karaoke without anyone looking at you. I love singing to the Dixie Chicks, Anne Murray, Mama Cass and the Carpenters songs.

Those are some good choices. I have done several Dixie Chicks songs and at least one by each of the others you mentioned. I have heard of PalTalk before, but never used it. I don't know too much about it. Is it a chat program kind of like any of the other messsenger programs, or is it something else?

I think the best karaoke sing for me is "Sometimes it just enough" by Paty Smith and Don Henley. What a great song. I like it a lot. Especially if I sing it duet with my viance. That song it's really beautifull to sing. You should try it

You're right, "Sometimes it just enough" is a very beautiful song. I think I will try it. I dont know if I can find someone to do it as a duet, but if not I guess I can do it alone.
