Have Matching portals been successful?

In the olden days and even today there are many matchmakers in every community, who have either been doing this service to members of their community for free or some nominal cost. These match-makers personally endorse the match, but this is not found in the Internet matchmakers. I agree that the local matchers may no have huge databse as that of the internet portals, but all that we look out for in a marriage is happiness and success. This is my opinion, what do uhave to say?
