I am not a church goer and my mom said I would probably go to hell because of that. Do you think my mom is right?, I had faith to our Lord, but its just that I don't like to go church that much. I am more into prayers. Do you think my mom is right.? Feel free to tell me your views about it.

I don't know your faith. As a Messianic Christian, I believe that if you accept Jesus as your savior, you are saved. So, you will not go to hell if you do not go to church, as long as you believe He is your savior and love Him, and pray to Him. Follow His words. Perhaps you need to find a different church, that's all. There are two ways to worship God. 1: Man made rules on what to do and what is expected of you, in most traditional religions. 2: A one on one relationship with our Lord. A personal faith type relationship. That is how I worship God. You do not have to answer to people, only Him.

You will not go to hell because of this action, but you may go to hell if your intention is not right. God judge people by their intention, not their action. But as a Christian you should go to church, because Christian should live in community. That is how the early Christian live, and that is how Jesus live too.

You might not go to hell just because you dont go to church, as you pray at home as jesus taught to pray in soltitude. But as a christian you have to participate in church activites ( One of the Ten commandments) apart from routine prayers. If you disobey your Mom you will be disobeying Ten commandments also.

Hi Deane, I go to Church and I love it, I attend an Apostolic Pentecostal Church and I love the worship, and the praise, the people and especially the word of God. But I didn't always go, I didn't like it much, because I didn't feel any different when I left, but after much prayer and seeking I walked into a Church, and it changed my life around I walked out convicted, excited, I knew I had been touched by God. And I have gone faithfully ever since and grown so much more in all areas including my faith. I don't know what Church you attend, or the dominations that your family is affliated with but I suggest you find a Church that is on the move, shaking, juking and jiving for Jesus, with a footstomping, devilchasing congreation, and see if you don't want to go. I attend a United Pentecostal Church, we are apostolic. The bible states that would should not forsake the assembling of ourselves together - which leads me to believe that God desires us to attend Church on a fairly regular basis. You said you are a praying man -- Ask God, He has never let me down yet, He is a prayer answering God, ask Him for direction to lead you and guide you in His will for your life. As for Mom, I am sorry that she says that kind of thing to you. It seems so harsh, but she is probably scared for you if she goes to Church regularly and wants you to do the same. Will that be reason enough to be sent to hell, who really knows -- I can tell you this though -- there are people who sit on pews week after week and just because they are there doesn't mean they will go to heaven. A lot about the salvation of our souls and the desires of Jesus, is the condition of our hearts. So ask Jesus for help, sincerely and He will direct your paths. And Check out a U.P.C. Church you might be pleasantly surprised. You never know what God will do!!!! Best Wishes, God Bless, see you around the mylot dicussions. :)

I also do not go to church that much but I do remember God each day all the time. Your mom is quite wrong though in saying you could go to hell because of that. But nothing is wrong in going to church. We also need to hear the words and teachings of God since He is the bread and the life. Just keep on with your prayers. It is good to go to church with all your heart and soul, not because you are forced or scolded by someone else .

I think it's sad when people think others will go to hell just because they don't go to church. I really don't think it matters whether or not one goes to church. But then, maybe that's just because I'm not religious. And after being brought up to go to church EVERY Sunday whether or not I wanted to... Well, anyway... I, personally, don't feel you would go to hell just because you don't go to church. I think it's sad your mom would tell you something like that.

As long as you believe in Jesus then you are assured of entry to heaven, saying that you could confess that however break commandments and then that leads to a whole other discussion. You mother may have good intentions however feel that she is inaccurate and I have opened with the truth as I know it. We are currently un churched as it is called and know that we would be better for attending chruch. We also include him all week long and not just on Sunday! Would hope that peace would find you! Thanks for letting me share!!

I am a Christian and I follow the Holy Bible. The Holy Bible says Do not forsake the assembly. We worship on the first day of the week - that is Sunday. There are five ways to worship God - singing, praying, reading the Holy Bible, giving, and taking the Lord's Supper. We do all of these every Sunday. Church in the Holy Bible means a group of the called out by God; a church is not the church building as understood by the Catholic religion. We have a place where we worship, wherever it is. Some congregations which can afford to construct a building do so and there is where they worship. Congregations who cannot may just assemble in a house or a place where they could worship God. Your mom is not right and if you really have faith in the Lord, PLS study the Holy Bible very well and follow it.

I seldom go to church every Sunday, I believe that God is everywhere, what is important is you believe in Him and in Truth. As long as you don't hurt anybody and you don't harm anyone.

I don't go to church either. Your mother is wrong, I don't think that you have to practice your faith with a bunch of other people at a church service once or twice a week to go to heaven. You just need to believe.

lol... this remind of the song by dong abay "banal na aso santong kabayo" let me put some excerpts: kaharap ko sa dyip and isang ale nagrorosaryo mata nyay nakapikit pumara sa may kumbento sa babaan lng po sabi ng tsuper kase may nanghuhuli mura pa rin ng mura ang ale. i guess this explain my point. (sorry if i cant translate this to universal language.. well the cream of this song is that it doesnt mean you are a good person if you always go to church)

i am a church goer. because I believe that we have 24/7 times we have for ourselves and for all other concerns. I believe that it is right for us to go to the church for one hour or more, in a week, just to thank Him for all the blessings we have received. Maybe its not much for us to spend with Him once a week.
