Should we spell the words well when chatting or texting?

Are we still good in spelling? "Screenagers" scored low on this. We have carried our text and chat habits to work and school.

Personally, i do not use the "txt" lingo. I prefer to spell each word as it is when texting or chatting because it is always easier to relay your message that way. Rather than using a couple of shortcuts which may not be understood by the recipient. I have nothing against the latest fad in texting but i think it should only be used in an informal setting and not during school hours. Some might not notice it yet but the txt lingo gradually saps our language with the excuse of laziness. How lame can that be? How do people see themselves after 10years if they are that lazy? I do not know and i don't want to know. Let's just hope that i am committing the slippery slope fallacy. ;)

I have the same sentiments with you. People had corrupted their language. Whatever it is that undermine communication and its purpose, I am sure that the generation of texters had expedite its deteriotation.
