Say you had an affair but it's completely over now. would you tell your spouse? "honest is the best policy" or "what he doesn't know won't hurt him/her"? to the other party.. would want to know? or is ignorance bliss?

if you are bothered by the past "cheating" you made, and you think that your partner can accept you no matter what, then you can spill it out but with caution. You also have to be sensitive to your partner's feelings,so you can give art to the way you deliver the confession. But if you think that it will just ruin your relationship, then its better to keep it a secret and dont do it again!

well if you are too comfortable with your partner and i believe that if you truly love your partner a lot then even before being in relationship with her at that time only i would have confessed each and every thing so i believe in truth and honety which are the pillars for having a strong love life

Well, sometimes, there are things that are better left unspoken. Being honest is a double-edged sword in these kind of situations. It's better to just let the past bury itself and enjoy the present. =)
