We've already told our closest family and friends. Next weekend we're getting together with our cousins for dinner and can't decide how to tell them. We'd like to do something a little creative, not just blurt out the news. How did you tell your family that you were pregnant? Any funny or creative stories you can share?

You could try sitting around knitting little booties and let them notice.

I actually do knit, but I don't know if they would know what I was knitting! I like to knit socks and people always ask me if I'm knitting a sweater. Someone once asked me if my sock was going to be a scarf! Maybe I could knit a pair of booties and bring them with me and say, "I made these for our baby, aren't they cute?"

That's another interesting idea - we did tell them that we were bringing dessert! Maybe I could have the bakery write something on a cake for us!

Crystal Pacifier - baby pacifier
When we told our family that we were expecting our 2nd child we did a couple different things. For my parents I wrapped a phto frame and instead of a picture in it an put a note saying that a picture would be provied on (insert due date here). Then for my husbands family we purchased small baby items and wrapped each one for each family member. Pacifer, baby cereal, jarred food, baby socks, etc... and had them open them all together. It was a lot of fun watching them try to figure out what the present was for!

I just came out and told them, lol. I couldn't help myself. But I do have a friend who wanted to do something creative, so here's what she did. She bought a book on baby names and then met her friend for coffee. During their chat she said, oh I have a book I'd like you to read and then maybe afterwards you could give me your opinion on which is best. Hehe, I thought it was kind of a different way to spread the news.

I've never heard of anyone doing that before! That's a cute idea. I was thinking about just wearing a shirt announcing the news to see how long it takes people to notice.

Do a themed dinner baby back ribs with baby carrots and baby spinach. For desert do mini baby cheesecakes. People may catch on they may not but afterwards you can make little post cards for place settings and put diapers pins on everyones card! Let us know what you come up with. How exciting and congratulations!!!!!!!
