How many are using satellite phone's today and who are all eligible to use that?

Im sorry im not quite sure who is eligible to use sattelite phones, i tend to be a little technologically stunted and am usually not up on the latest things but i will certainly look back to the discussion later on so that i can find out as well

I know what is satellite phone but regarding the eligibility of holding a satellite phone, i am also in the same boata s you are .I think teher are some rules and regulations to follow to hold a staellite phone and getting signals will not be any problem in any part of the world as signals are directly taken from teh satellites and not from towers as in other normal cell phone.....

Well I reckon they are available here in the US, we have several friends that use the handheld ones. But they tend to be a bit pricey. That means I will not be able to use them any time soon. I hear they are wonderful and so much better than cell phones. Do you have one?

I don't think a common man is let to have a satellite phone and in our country everybody are using cell phones but not satellite phones.Satellite phones take signals directly from satellites and not like normal cell phones and i think, even we might have to get permission from the government to have one satellite phone...
