How do i improve my rating?

Well, ive reached 100 posts but my rating in the little star is only 3. I know some of my replies are quite short but i feel that most of them are better, like i dont use one word answers or anything? If anybody has any tips on improving the rating? Did you start low and then work your way up? HOw long will it take. Should i start more discussion as i havnt really been starting them, but the ones i have started i have rated all the people who respond? thanks charlie

i found when i got to 100 i got a star rating of 93/100 i think this is because when i post i put in responses with atleast 4 lines in them. i think when you reply with just one line it puts down your rating somehow and if i feel i cant contribute to a discussion with enough quality content i will either comment on someones response or i will just not respond in the discussion at all, thats how ive worked it out anyway.

Oh ok, thanks for your response. Some of my answers have been quite long but others shorter, although i have still managed to say what i wanted to say in only a couple of lines and feel a bit disappointed that my rating is low because of this. If i try harder to make better quality, longer posts will my rating go up?
