Snakes for pets

Which snakes make a good pet and how should they be handled?

I hate snakes, so I don't think any kind of snake makes a good pet...

I have a Ball Python and I think he is an awesome snake. When full grown it will be between 5-6 feet long, big enough, but not too big. He is very calm and has never done anything that makes me feel threatened. I suggest you do a lot of reading on the breeds, and their care before you make any decisions. I do have two suggestions for handling them though, always be gentle and NEVER handle them when you smell like their food/or are feeding them.
