Getting sick

How often do you usually get sick? Do you get regular colds or do you tend to get stomach bugs? Have you had the flu this year? Did you get a flu shot? I used to get sick quite often, but I have noticed that this fall/winter I haven't gotten sick much at all. Instead its my husband getting sick much more then he used to, he use to NEVER get sick. I now take a womans one-a-day and a Vitamin C, which I think has helped me greatly. I try to get my husband to take the Vitamin C, but he refuses. I think he would truly help him out, but nooo. lol I never get the flu shot nor does my husband. I normally get sore throats the most and then the runny/stuffed up nose

I hardly ever get sick. I apparently my immune system works over time to make sure that I stay healthy. I do get little colds from time to time, but usually they don't last longer than 24 hours. I have not got the flu since I was in high school, and I have never had a flu shot.

Hmm...I also get colds from time to time when it is cold outside. But, even when it is cold outside and the house is warm, I might still get a stuffy nose and a sore throat. But, that is just from time to time!

I have to agree that the one a day and vitamin C must be helping you tremendously! Vitamins can be very helpful in keeping the bugs away. Myself normally i am hardly ever sick but lately i have been getting sick quite often. I finally went into see a Doctor and unfortunately i have Asthma!!!

I've noticed that my kids have remained really healthy this winter and pray that it'll last. Nothing much has changed, I don't give them vitamins or anything like that and if anything we've been out and around people more then any other winter. My mother-in-law is a really big advocate of vitamins and herbs and everytime someone sneezes it seems like she's chasing after us with her bottles of pills! LOL. The only vitamins I ever take are Folic Acid and Calcium, and that's just because I'm either pregnant, or just had a baby or about to be pregnant! :)

I didn't get any kind of colds for the longest time, then for a few years I would get knock-down-drag-out sick once a year. Not the flu, it was always "viral", but it would keep me out of work for a week. And I usually never call in sick! Every now and then I'd get a sinus infection, but that wasn't a big deal. Now, this year I didn't get sick at all - so far, knock on wood. Two possibilities. I've started a new vitamin regimen that I think is actually working pretty well. And also, the weather here has been so mild this winter. I just hope I'm not going to get antying now, I have too much work to do!

Oh, and I don't do flu shots. I don't like foreign things in my body - you just don't know what's in there. I also don't like the idea of giving myself an illness that might or might not be a problem in the coming year.

hot lemon water might help calm down your throat so you aren't coughing as much. Vicks also helps, if you rub it on your chest and neck...

I get colds a lot...but, I do have allergies and I wonder if some of the times I contribute symptoms to "colds" that it's not really allergies. LOL I, too get the stuffy nose, sore throat, and draining into my throat. I get really sick--like throw up sick--about once a year. Never at the same time of year, though. I was sick about 5 months ago wiht some 48 hr bug. I was feverish and throwing up and in and out of conciousness. I mean, I was so doped up, that I couldn't even hardly stay awake. LOL I realized right then and there that I am in awe of single mothers because my kids only got taken care of that weekend by my husband.

I rarley get sick. Unless you count a headache as being sick. LOL I have never had a flu shot and have never had a bad flu. But, when the time comes and one person gets sick in the house...it is a cycle throught everyone. And, if that cycle doesn't end soon enough, it might just be passed back around!! But, no I do not get sick often and I have never had a flu shot. At least I think! :D

I hardly ever get sick and I never get the flu shot. It seems like our kids get sick quite a bit though. I heard that if your child doesn't get some sort of cold or sickness at least ten times a year that they will have immature immune systems. That seems like a lot of time to be sick, that would only be two months where you wouldn't have a cold.

I actually am pretty healthy in the sense of not getting the flu or other such ailments. I did feel sick to my stomach a few days ago out of the blue, which was odd, because that doesn't usually happen to me. But I haven't had the flu in years, or anything else like that. I've probably had colds, but never to the point that they've kept me in bed. I just get a stuffy nose and cough more in the winter, off and on. Anyway, I think that a lot of my family's good health is due to the fact that we eat a healthy lunch every single day. We have steamed vegetables and a meat dish. I really do believe that I am healthier because of this, and I'm really thankful for our good lunches. ^_^

I'm never ill, ever. A few weeks back my whole family and my girlfriend came down with a flu type illness and were all really under the weather, i started feeling the same symptoms they were so i just went out and carried on like i normally would, and the symptoms disappeared. I then went to the pub and had a great evening. It seems nothing can get me down, touch wood.

this is the first year I did not get the flu shot. Boy was I sick. Almost three weeks of a serious cough and it lingered for many more. I have learned my lesson. Next year, it's a flue shot for me.

I don't get the flu often, though I seem to be getting the silly stomach flu more. I take my daily vitamins, eat well, exercise and obsessively wash my hands. I refuse the flu shot too. I use to get it but I always seemed to get sick more often. Now I have been flu free for three years. (knock on wood). Best of luck to ya! Hope the basic stuff I said helps.

No often, because I'm just supplied with protein, minerals food. I don't like junk food. Suplement of Vitamin C is good but just for a variation.

I rarely ever get sick. I attribute that to eating right, excersizing, and taking vitamins. Vitamins are so important to maintaining health these days.
