Would you throw money out the window to win a contest?

I was just reading a story about a German lorry driver who won £60,000 through a radio competition. The thing is, he will have to throw most of this money out of the window! *laugh* Would you agree to throw a fifth of your prize money out of the window just to win a competition? Mind you, he's still going to end up with the equivalent of around £10,000.
I have admit that it makes me bit sad that his idea was the winning entry of the 'best use' of the money. It would have been nice if someone had won who had asked if they could give most of their winnings to charity! *laugh* But I guess that people were probably so amazed at his idea of just throwing the money out of a window that they voted for him, or else these people were thinking that they would perhaps try to be there and catch the money themselves as it flies out of his window, lol!!
Anyway, would you have done this to win a contest? Have you ever won money in a competition? What are your thoughts on the above story? You can read it all here:

Oh gosh yes yes yes I would love to do this! It would be a dream come true for me as I have always said I would love to be rich enough to hand out money in the street. The looks on peoples faces would just be amazing!
But to win £60,000 and then have to throw out £50,000 I would cry my eyes out while doing so! I would also have to make sure friends and family were standing there waiting to catch a share.
Now can you please tell me when the next competition like this one starts and where can I enter?

I wish I knew when the next competition was like this one, lol! Aw, I think that it's so incredibly sweet that you want to hand out money! I think that it would have been easy for that guy to make sure that he had friends and family there to catch some of the money that he had to throw out the window, now that I think about it, so there's no reason that you couldn't have done the same thing in his place. What a lovely idea, to help your family and friends out in that way! ^_^

My, what a strange thing! I guess the answer is "yes", because he would still be left with £10,000 more than he had to start with!! Perhaps I would have "tipped off" friends, and relatives so that they knew where I was throwing it. then they could keep half of what they found themselves, and give the rest back to me! Cheers!

LOL, you have the best idea yet. Helping out friends and family, and still getting some of that extra $10,000 for yourself. That's really great.
I agree, I would also do it, but I would never have come up with the idea in the first place. My mother taught me to be frugal, lol, so the idea of throwing money out a window is so foreign to me that I can only conceive of it if someone else mentions it, I swear. It would have been about the last thing that I ever would have come up with for the idea to win a competition! *laugh*

Gabs, wouldn't it be great if he did wait until August so that you could catch some of that money as it flies out of the window, lol? ^_^ I am sure that there will be someone there from the radio station, to make sure that he complies with the rules. I can't imagine that they would give away that amount of money with a stipulation like someone having to throw part of it out of a window, and then not watch to make sure that the guy follows the rules. ^_^

I think that would be a scream. He still has $10,000 in his pocket. I would like to pick the window that I would throw it out of though.
Maybe near a charitable organization or in a poorer area of town. I could just imagine the looks on peoples faces

Ally, you truly have a great idea about making sure that you threw the money out of a window near a charity or a poorer area in town. I hope that this guy does do something like that, or can at least help out his friends and family who might need money by making sure that some of them are able to show up when he does it. Or maybe the radio station won't let him do any of that - I really don't know. I wish that the article had had more details! *laugh*

This is a tickling matter. Will make a lot of people laugh and generate smiles from those who have read it even long after the encounter.
It will be a big yes for me. I will be very willing to do that if that will be the very cause of my winning such a big prize money. Anyway, I will still keep a considerably big part of it after all.

Remembering that a penny saved is a penny earned. No matter how much money he won,it was more than he had before he started.
