There are many occassions that go on that you have the opportunity to pick/not pick up a hitch hiker. What do you do? Do you pick them up and waste you gas or do you keep on driving. What is your famous story about hitch hikers?

It's illegal in my state to pick up hitch hikers, however a few months ago we were driving along and saw a man with what looked like a 5 year old boy trying to get a ride. We pondered if we should help them but we didnt have room in our car with all of the kids, so my husband took me and the kids home and he went back and picked them up. The guys car had broke down and he lived in another city and none of his family or friends would come and get him so my husband drove him to where he needed to go. The little boy was crying. Im glad my husband helped out.

I just keep on driving right by them as it is dangerous to pick up hitch hikers because you do not know what their intentions really are other than getting a ride. I have never even thought about picking one up and never will.

as I dont feel endangered when alone I often pick them up but with family I will not. I dont think a woman should pick up hitchhikers as they may assault her
