Every Thursday without fail at around 4pm our local free paper arrives. Because this week I am in the papers, for the first time ever! I have got myself into the paper! But guess what, no free paper has turned up! I am so annoyed, every week that paper arrives and because my story is in the paper it fails to arrive!!!! Have you got any stories about sod's law to share?

OOhhh nooo ... surely not .. so you haven't yet seen the article .. can you still get a copy .. flippin' norah that really is a good example of 'Sod's law' isn't it And did you know how Sod's Law came about .. Sod's law (also known as Finagle's law or Murphy's law) is a popular adage in Western culture, which broadly states that things will go wrong in any given situation. It is most commonly formulated as "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." In American culture the law was named after Major Edward A. Murphy, Jr., a development engineer working for a brief time on rocket sled experiments done by the United States Air Force in 1949. I've just read a discussion on being too long in the shower .. so a Sod's law example would be "Everything takes longer than you think." giggles !!

Just typical. Hope you manage to get a copy of it. Sod's law is acommon occurrence in our house. The one week I forget to order something in my shop is the week that everyone wants it from our local shops and the rare occassions I actually go out is the one time the posty brings a delivery that is too big for the letter box or needs signing for.

Hi Yep!! I do a little bit on www.betfair.com It is a gambling site, but I only "do" the football. There is lots of things you can bet on with football, and one of the things is over 2.5 goals. You can GUARANTEE that if I bet that it will be LESS than 2.5 goals, as soon as I press the button to submit my bet, someone will score a goal!!!! SODS LAW or what!

That is great!!! Do you have a link to a website for the newspaper article? I would love to see it! I am sorry you didn't get a newspaper today. That really sucks. But please tell me that you got a newspaper anyways!!! How is this for sod's law. LOL I finally had a good job that I was happy with and doing well living in Florida. But my partner received job transfer and I agreed to move and thought that I would find another job. We thought that the move would be the better for the family...for many reasons. But we have been here a year and I am still without a job because the children's school hours do not permit me to find a job that I have been doing. And when I did get a different job working much later hours, my partner destroyed our relationship. But because I am now completely dependent on him being without a job...I decided to stay here and try to work things out. Life can be so cruel sometimes.
