i would like to have an idea what are the most commonly used expense accounts for non-profit, non-stock organizations?

It depends largely on what types of expenses you normally have. Rent, Utilities, Salaries, Supplies, that kind of stuff is common to most businesses. From there, it's wholly dependent on what you spend money on.
