I just moved to clarksville, TN but I have found that there's nothing here to do. Nashville is about 45min away but I was not impressed by it. Is there anything exciting here?!?

First of all, Metropolis, IL is about 90 minutes from Clarksville. You can gamble there on Merv Griffin's Riverboat. And it is the home of Superman. Seriously. As for Nashville, you outght to be able to find something there. It's known as LA without a tan. And I can say that's a fairly accurate description. I lived in both Nashville and LA. I also spent a lot of time in Clarksville. And you are right there at Ft. Campbell. While that is not always or maybe even ever a good thing, it is in Kentucky and there is horse racing on that end of the state. Do you like pro football? Hockey? Music Row? Taping of TV shows? Riverboat cruising? Museums? Readings, night clubs (not all of which are country), art house films? If you like any of that, you can find it in Nashville. Oh, and minor league baseball as well. And Vandy or Austin Peay sports. Or, you can take a trip to Bowling Green, KY. Corvette Museum, Jim Beam Distillery in Beardstown.

Its been a long time since I lived there, but Land Between the Lakes is a very pretty area. Its maybe a half hour west of town I think. Are you military? The army post has some nice recreation areas.

We moved about 50 miles east of Nashville almost a year ago-from Florida. I have a small child, so I don't do much anyways. My partying days are over lol. Couldn't find anything in Nashville to do? I've read about some bars, probably mostly Country bars there, just got to find them. My brother was stationed in Clarksville for awhile when he got back from Iraq. He absolutely hated it lol. I've also noticed whenever there's something bad going on, like a shooting or stabbing, it always seems to be in Clarksville lol. If you like to gamble, my brother said a couple of the guys would either take a bus or drive to a casino in KY. But I don't think they have casinos there, and I think it's actually in Southern Illinois/on the border. Also, if you like to gamble, Tunica, Mississippi is about 2 1/2-3 hours from you. That's pretty nice there, and a real nice drive. If you like hills and mountains and nice scenery, head east on I40 towards Knoxville. Gorgeous drive! and Knoxville is pretty nice. Then you can keep going and head to Pigeon Forge-where DOllywood is. Though I didn't really care for that area, too many tourists. Head up to Gaitlinburg from there up in the mountains, again gorgeous scenery. I noticed there's a lot of state parks around, haven't been to any, but there's usually a few things to find to do there. Lots of lakes, again out this way I know there is, boating, wave runners(rentals too),cabin rentals, fishing, swimming, etc. Somewhere in Nashville, I think off Briley Parkway(?) there's a big flea market, once a month. Nashville has a zoo. Thomas Jefferson(I think it's him lol)has a mansion/museum somewhere around here. Can't forget Graceland, but that's Memphis. Oh, and there's a fairly decent size mall right next to Opryland too. Kinda neat, has this aquarium restaurant in there. Most of this stuff might sound cheesy lol, just stuff I've noticed while driving, and most of it is out this side of Nashville. Shelbyville(south)is the Tennessee Walking Horse capital, so if you're into that kind of stuff, check that out. Go to the Chamber of Commerce's for your town, and the surrounding towns, they'll have maps and attraction info there, promoting their towns. And just get out and drive around, that's the best way to find out what's around. If you're in the Army there, the other guys/gals should know what's going on. Good luck :)
