Tony Dungy of the Indy Colts and Lovie Smith of the Chicago Bears are now the first african americans to lead their teams to the Super Bowl. Not once before this year has any African American Pro-Football coach have taken their team to the Super Bowl and this year we didnt get just one.. we got two! How do you think this historical feature will help minorities gain higher positions in coaching, not only in football but all sports around the world?

I don't understand why race always comes up with things? Does it really matter that both coaches are african-american? Why do we always have to point these things out? Can't we just call them great coaches instead of constantly labeling them as african americans.

Because whenever a minority gets a big position or makes a big historical movement, its special. It has to be. Most minorities have always been opressed so coming up and making moves needs celebration or at least recognition. I think them making it the to the bowl is gonna change things. Good things.

It can do nothing but help African Americans get more opportunities. The NFL has done a decent job in its minority hiring, but can always do better. The NCAA has a lot of work to do in football with minority hiring. It is a shame how few African American head coaches there are at the Division I level. It is something that the NCAA needs to take a hard look at.
