Have you ever tried to ignore what your 'gut' is telling you?

I was talking to a friend on the phone today and as it always does the conversation migrated onto inquiries regarding one another's relationships and how they are doing. He told me a bit about his which is going swimmingly. Then I talked a bit about mine and stumbled upon a "landmine" that my gut had laid in for me since I had been insistently muting and ignoring what it has been tryting to tell me for months. Well I heard myself telling my buddy exactly what my gut has been saying to me and once it was conciously recognized and quantified the info could not be unheard. Just like a baked loaf of bread cannot be unbaked.
Darn it! and I was doing such a darn fine job of pretending to be an ostrich. Now I have to pop my head out of it's hole (you can guess which one I suspect it was tucked into!)and turn my mental energies toward dealing with the issue that I didn't want to deal with. Which is why I was ignoring it!

it is possible. You have to go with your gut feelings even when what your gut is telling you is unpopular with your heart's desires.

Yeah I've done that a lot. Instead of just dumping a woman when I get a bad feeling about it, I end up pursuing it until I see the evidence and that's usually about the time the novelty of me being her new guy has worn off.
