I have one child and she is one year old. She gets into everything all day long. I have had to remove everything from my home and get a storage unit. It amazes me as to everything she finds to get into. You almost need a house with nothing in it. Do your kids keep you up and about all day too?

great post smcjcm, im in the same situation as you are in now, lol. i sincerley wish i had nothing in my home because my daughter will go around the house step by step and wither pull everything out of where it is, or damage stuff, she is crafty and very crafty. when i have a sleep in her dad lets her do that, he says oh it doesn't matter she's only a baby but to me it does because i made my home nice for all of us and i don't want it wrecked and my child to grow up thinking she can break what she wants if she's in a temper or something. im always watching her around the house because i always know that she's up to no good because she's quiet, sometimes i can't even have a phone call without her out of my sight or go online, it's mad and i don't sitdown properly till she's asleep because i don't need to worry then, lol!

I have a stepson 15, stepdaughter 12 and son, 1. We'd planned to only have one child together and that's just fine with me. He keeps us on our toes, but I love that I can give him my full attention. My best friend has 3 under the age of 6 and while i know that she loves them, she doesn't seem happy anymore. She just can't keep up with them. When she gives attention to one, the other 2 act up. It turns into a nonstop disipline problem. Part of it is how they parent though, but I still wouldn't want to have to worry about splitting my attention. I was an only child. That's probably where I get a lot of my parenting philosophies.

Yes. I read your post and I had to laugh because it's the same for me too and I'm sure it is for other parents. In our entertainment center where we used to put our movies/DVD's-- is now all of her books and movies and toys, things she can play with. Everything in my living room is her toys and nothing breakable is at ground level. My little girl is 15 months and she is constantly into everything--it's a cool world for a baby so many different things to see.. So, yes.. mine keeps me on my toes all day long-- but, I've pretty much have my house child proof so it's not that big of a deal anymore-- but, man. They can find things I didn't even know I had :)
