STAR JONES REYNOLDS.. What happened?

I watched the episode when Star said she was leaving the VIEW & I was so sad--especially with Meredith leaving the show as well. Then the whole thing with Barbara saying what she said after Star had left. What actually happened in that situation, does anyone know?
