In your household, what kind of things do you do to protect the environment?

My husband and I just watched 'An Inconveinient Truth', the documentary about global warming, and it got me thinking... how can we improve the way we live so our child still has water to drink and air to breathe. this is one of my greatest concerns about becoming a parent: the handing over of an impure planet to the next generation. Is this a concern for many parents, or are we so busy that we forget to write our representatives, unplug our appliances, and buy our Hybrids? Do you plant trees with your kids, recycles, buy organic and local? Do you have discussions with them about conserving energy? What does your family do to 'save the planet'?

I am willing to do anything that I can, I recycle everything I can, and I buy the least amount of packaging as possible, I have small buckets under each tap then they get poured into larger buckets then they go out onto the garden, so I do try.
