Second World: Would you rather live in the virtual world?

is the web 2.0 getting bigger than life? people who sign up on the Second World can do what they do in the real life. They do shopping, watch videos, or even go to Reuters... etc. I can't get it still. Why are we so obsessed with creating another world? does this mean dissatisfaction? or just an extension of the world we live in?
