Import user files

I have been using DNS-8 and have a substantial “user file” recently I had to install a new hard drive and re-install Windows XP and DNS on my Toshiba notebook without any problem, except that my "user file" which I did save on an external HD It is not shown on any of the “user” menus, although it is imported into DNS and a denial of repeat importation shows it is on the program, as it is not shown anywhere there is no possibility of using the “restore” button. Help it would be appreciated.
