There is one 130 KM from Bangalore, known as RANGANATHITTU where during seson, birds come from Siberia. It is open to public. The sanctuary has Cauvery river flowing through the area.

There is a village called BELLUR some 150 km from Bangalore where the villagers are providing the infrastructure facilities besides natural setting for the migrating birds. I do not know what type of birds come here, but every year there is newspaper announcement regarding birds landing at this village for a month or two.

How do villagers protect the birds from being shot by hunters (modern)?
